I'm Julianne Dickey, We Care Medicare, your Medicare insurance advocate for the Central Coast. Life insurance isn't about dying, it's about the people who are living. There are a few different types of life insurance.

There's term life, which covers a set stretch of years when the need is biggest. Whole life covers you your whole life and it also builds cash value. There's another type of life insurance called universal life.

This combines whole and term life. There are hybrid policies that combine life insurance and long-term care coverage. You can use it for care if you need it and if you don't then your family gets the benefit.

Then there's final expense policies. They cover the goodbye, so your family doesn't have to think about it that week. Want to leave a legacy?

Protect what you've built? Let's design it on purpose. Give me a call.

Hi, I'm Julianne Dickey, We Care Medicare, your Medicare insurance advocate for the Central Coast. When we sit down together, I don't just look at Medicare, I look at four things. One, health insurance.

This is usually Medicare coverage that gets you your doctors and helps pay the bills. Two, if you need care at home or in a facility, this protects your savings and it protects your family. Three, income versus growth.

Some annuities pay you a steady paycheck for the rest of your life, and others focus on growing your money. The right one depends on what you need. Four, do you want to leave a legacy?

Protect your assets? And these days, there are hybrid policies that combine long-term care and life insurance all in one. If you need care, you're covered.

If you never do, your family still gets the benefit. We don't have to figure it all today. We start where you are.

Give me a call and let's look at the whole picture together.

The people who depend on you

Start with the need, not the policy name

If your income or support were no longer there, what would your family need? Consider housing, debts, daily expenses, a spouse's income, care responsibilities, and final expenses.

Your needs may change as children become independent, a mortgage is paid down, or retirement approaches. Review existing coverage before deciding whether anything needs to change.

Term and whole life

Term life insurance provides coverage for a specified period under the policy's terms. It may suit a need that has an expected end date, such as years of income replacement or a remaining mortgage.

Whole life is a form of permanent coverage. Premiums, cash values, guarantees, and policy conditions deserve a careful explanation. Keeping a policy in force and borrowing against it can affect its benefits.

Final expense planning

Final expense insurance is intended to help with expenses left at death, such as funeral costs and other bills. Compare premiums, benefit amounts, waiting periods, and exclusions.

It is one part of planning. Make sure your family knows where to find policy details and who to contact when needed.

Life insurance that can help with long-term care

Some life insurance policies today are hybrid designs that can also help cover qualifying long-term care costs. Depending on the policy, unused benefits may pass to your beneficiaries as a death benefit.

These policies are different from traditional long-term care insurance, and terms vary by company. Julianne can walk through the options she represents and help you compare them with the long-term care and annuity approaches.

Beneficiaries, spouse support, and legacy

Check who is named on each policy and whether those choices still match your wishes. A marriage, divorce, death, or other family change can make a review important.

Insurance decisions may connect with gifting, estate planning, and tax questions. Julianne can explain the policies she offers; an attorney or tax professional should address the legal and tax details.
