Hi, I'm Julianne Dickey, We Care Medicare, your Medicare insurance advocate for the Central Coast. When we sit down together, I don't just look at Medicare, I look at four things. One, health insurance.

This is usually Medicare coverage that gets you your doctors and helps pay the bills. Two, if you need care at home or in a facility, this protects your savings and it protects your family. Three, income versus growth.

Some annuities pay you a steady paycheck for the rest of your life, and others focus on growing your money. The right one depends on what you need. Four, do you want to leave a legacy?

Protect your assets? And these days, there are hybrid policies that combine long-term care and life insurance all in one. If you need care, you're covered.

If you never do, your family still gets the benefit. We don't have to figure it all today. We start where you are.

Give me a call and let's look at the whole picture together.

Life insurance, in plain language.

I'm Julianne Dickey, We Care Medicare, your Medicare insurance advocate for the Central Coast. Life insurance isn't about dying, it's about the people who are living. There are a few different types of life insurance.

There's term life, which covers a set stretch of years when the need is biggest. Whole life covers you your whole life and it also builds cash value. There's another type of life insurance called universal life.

This combines whole and term life. There are hybrid policies that combine life insurance and long-term care coverage. You can use it for care if you need it and if you don't then your family gets the benefit.

Then there's final expense policies. They cover the goodbye, so your family doesn't have to think about it that week. Want to leave a legacy?

Protect what you've built? Let's design it on purpose. Give me a call.

Build your understanding

One life. Several different decisions.

An older woman and her adult daughter preparing peas together on a porch

Planning for future care

Make room for the care you may need, and the people who may help you.

  • Long-term care insurance
  • Home health care, assisted living, and caregiver support
  • Family conversations about care preferences
An older couple tending vegetables in their backyard

Retirement income

Understand your income needs before choosing an insurance product.

  • Annuity education and income options
  • IRA rollover questions and restrictions
  • Emergency savings, liquidity, and lower-risk choices
A grandfather and his adult daughter preparing a meal while a child draws at the table

Protecting the people you love

Think through what your family would need if your income or support were no longer there.

  • Term and whole life insurance
  • Final expense planning
  • Spouse support, beneficiaries, and legacy goals

Preserving your choices for future care

Planning ahead gives you time to discuss where you would want care and who might help. Long-term care insurance, home health care, assisted living, and caregiver support are different pieces of that conversation.

Include your family early. Preferences, available help, and the cost of care deserve a discussion before someone has to make a hurried decision.

Retirement income and financial security

Start with the money you expect to need each month, your existing income, and the savings you may need to reach. Julianne can explain annuity options, IRA rollover considerations, and income strategies related to the insurance products she offers.

Keep an emergency fund and access to money in the discussion. Lower-risk products have their own restrictions, charges, and tradeoffs. Compare what a guarantee covers, who makes it, and what happens if you need money early.

Protecting your health

Review Medicare, prescription drug coverage, hospital and doctor access, and other health costs together. A plan that fit last year may need another look when prescriptions, providers, or your budget change.

Critical illness insurance is a separate type of coverage. Ask what diagnoses or events a policy covers, what it pays, and which exclusions apply. It does not replace Medicare or comprehensive health insurance.

Your family, beneficiaries, and legacy

Term life, whole life, and final expense coverage address different needs. Think about a spouse's ongoing expenses, dependents, debts, and the costs your family would face.

Beneficiary choices, gifting, estate plans, and tax planning also deserve attention. Julianne can help identify insurance questions to discuss alongside your attorney or tax professional. Insurance planning is not a substitute for their legal or tax advice.
